The Subjective Frequency Transducer is a collaborative experiment by composer and performer Stine Janvin, visual artist Marianne Vierø, and composer and software developer Fredrik Olofsson. As opposed to Janvin’s project In Labour, where the live sound of the environments is mixed with the voice of the absent performer, the internal frequencies of the performer is now explored as a musical accompaniment.
Inspired by antique anatomy studies, principles of esoteric science and her own voice physiology, Janvin is looking into the body´s anatomic structure as a potential source of artistic material.
The Subjective Frequency Transducer is both a musical instrument and a measuring device. An interactive sound installation that registrates and regenerates the internal resonance of the performer.
The instrument is introduced through a live performance by Stine Janvin, Fredrik Olofsson and audience.
The Subjective Frequency Transducer has been showed at SEAS Speaker Factory in Moss for Ny Musikk´s Only Connect Festival of Sound, the season opening of Bergen Kunsthall in 2015 and at Rokolective in Bucharest.
